Even after engagement, woman says she will not turn claddagh ring until marriage. Right to be mad?

Honestly, this bothers me. We are both of Irish descent. Even though we are engaged, she said she will not turn her ring ';in'; until we are married.

It bothers me because she works at a job where she can't always wear her wedding ring. I think it's a slap in the face and that she's trying to hide from other that she is engaged since she will not turn her ring ';in.';

Opinions?Even after engagement, woman says she will not turn claddagh ring until marriage. Right to be mad?
Technically it is a gift and she has the right to keep it, but any decent woman would return an engagement ring if you asked.Even after engagement, woman says she will not turn claddagh ring until marriage. Right to be mad?
I'm of irish decent too and if I'm not mistaken the claddagh is not turned 'in' until after marriage because technically she's still single, her heart is possibly available until the marriage vows...an engagement is just a vow to marry, it's NOT a marriage.

Besides, how many of her co-workers understand how the way a claddagh is worn really means..if they even notice a change in the direction? Really you are nit-picking here and anyone at work who knows her knows she's engaged so what are ya belly -achin' about...want the world to know for sure she's engaged? Have her wear the universal symbol of engagement in this day and age...a diamond solitaire...good grief.
I'm not Irish, but I have a fair number of friends that do follow that tradition. I'm kind of worried for you, man. Engaged usually is when they do turn the ring ';in,'; but that isn't everyones opinion on the matter. Hopefully there is an upside; I assume that she does wear an engagement ring that you gave her. I suggest you explain that your perspective. If she loves you, she will at least share hers with you.
'; Claddagh worn on the left hand ring finger, facing outward away from the body, generally indicates that the wearer is engaged. When the ring is on the left hand ring finger and facing inward toward the body, it generally means that the person wearing the ring is married'; as long as its on her left hand then she is wearing it properly.
she might not want to ';count her eggs until they hatch.'; Maybe she is nervous that you might not be as serious as you really are. Just accept that she see's marriage as the finish line and she will turn it in then.
Not sure what it means. But if it means your engaged and she doesn't want to do it, I would have a talk with her and find out what she really wants from your relationship.
well then slap your face and get it over with, cuz she's not gonna turn it in until she's married.
You have way too much time on your hands
