How come there are only a few states that accepted Gay-marriage?

I mean come on.......whats with this talk about gay-marriage.


I am not gay but I'm all for gay marriage and that I dont get it that some people are concern about having their state to have gay marriage.





I am really confuse, what harm can it do? How can you not let a person who is BORN gay and not have the rights like most straights.


I am baffled...........just baffled...How come there are only a few states that accepted Gay-marriage?
It's a process. Look back in history to the times when legally, women weren't even allowed to vote. And when it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry each other. But because our society changes over time (along with people's attitudes) before wrongs are corrected, it sometimes takes a while for states to 'catch up.'





There are a lot of people out there who (wrongly) believe that because Joe and Larry down the street get something more out of life (ie: to be married) that that simple fact will in some irrational way take something AWAY from them personally (which you and I know it won't).





It's great that we live in America and that over time we learn, grow, and adapt -- like recognizing that slavery was a very TRAGIC blemish in America history. There are more places NOW that gays and lesbians can get married in than there were 5 years ago. Take comfort in knowing that five years from now, it will probably be close to universal by that time. Think positively, because I think that we as Americans eventually 'get it right.' :)How come there are only a few states that accepted Gay-marriage?
because straight people are afraid of what is out of their comfort zone. Also religious people throw the bible around saying that there are a few sentences in there saying its a sin. There are two things wrong with that, first our country was found on the belief of freedom of religion and free will. Isn't marriage based on two people who love each other and not their genders? People are born gay and this nation is taking away their right of marriage with the exception of a few states. And second God did NOT write the bible, man did.
Because apparently, the government is too childish and scared to accept people for who they are.





I know that this is a racial slur but: Politicians are so IGNORANT.
