How much of a crime is it to get married before you complete the divorce of your previous marriage?

i am currently getting a divorce on my first marriage, but the process has not been finalized. is it a crime to get married before the divorce process is comleted? How much of a crime is it to get married before you complete the divorce of your previous marriage?
it's not a crime, but your marriage will not be valid.

Get a divorce, then get married or it will bite you on the ***.How much of a crime is it to get married before you complete the divorce of your previous marriage?
Of course it is considered bigamy. The penalties will vary.

If you have any sort of custody or asset issue with the divorve marrying will mean you are screwed.

Even if you don't have those issues there is a problem. Say it is ten years from now... you have a house, kids, cars, some assets, 401k or whatever. If you happen to get divorced again if it comes out that the marriage is not valid you will lose everything.

Even during marriage your and you spouse is aware of it she could torture you forever as they would know that at any point they can speak to a lawyer. Maybe even have you charged for a felony.
my fiance's ex wife married before the divorse was final. Their marriage was not valid and they had to do it again once the divorse was final.

We had a custody battle after all of this happened and her ignoring the fact that she was not yet divorsed had no baring on the child custody. This is in the state of CA.
It is a crime in every state. punishment is different in every state. you would lose all power in the divorce, opening yourself to financial loss, or loosing custody of children.
it is a crime and it will not be considered legal. Try and hold out
About this much
