What is it called when you don't have a proper marriage but just have a ceremony to celebrate your love?

Some people don't get legally married but have a ceremony where they celebrate there love for one another. Anyone have any idea what this is called? I havent got the faintest clueWhat is it called when you don't have a proper marriage but just have a ceremony to celebrate your love?
It's called a Commitment Ceremony. Alot of people do this for non-legal reasons.

good luck. :)What is it called when you don't have a proper marriage but just have a ceremony to celebrate your love?
a fake wedding.

';love ceremony';?

why do you need a ceremony to celebrate love? why not a party, or a dinner, or an amazing vacation? why have a pretend wedding ceremony, but use a different name and not get married?

it's like throwing yourself a graduation party without going to school. or going on a ';honeymoon';, but it's not your spouse, it's your best friend.
I just heard a story about this yesterday. The people are just joined in a union. I work with the disabled and one couple wanted to get married but the groom's family didn't want to give consent for a legal marriage. So, instead they just had a ceremony and created a union between themselves.
Vow exchange, better known as BULL SH**!!!

Hmm, I smell an already married groom.
a ';union'; but if you are living together for some years it is ';common law'; but most people would just consider it an engagement party. Will all this effort why not just get married? its pretty much the same thing
name it something you want like
