My fiancee is in the Army can i get our marriage license without him present?

I live in texas, My fiancee is in the army. Can i get our marriage license without him here with me? He is coming home on a 4 day but he wont be here until that saturday and the courthouse will be closed on that monday for Presidents day and he has to leave on that tuesday. We wanted to have a get together with our families. I just hope you know if we can. Pleas Help! Thank youMy fiancee is in the Army can i get our marriage license without him present?

A clerk might be willing to come into the office on a Saturday for you. Call and explain your situation.
you both have to be present to get the marriage license. :( sorry..
you might be surprised at what your base welfare officer can manage or the base chaplain. they may be able to get his signature faxed and the army vouch for the id. worth a try. good luck.it would be a great 4 day homecoming and wedding celebration for you and your families.

i dont think you can, he would need to give you a special power of attonery and it also depends on what state your in since most states have diffrent laws on this issues.
