The nuclear family is going out the door, yes. But I must say that 30-40 years ago families were a close unit and the mum did not have to work and the work day week for the father was monday to friday and so families had time together and did not have the financial pressure that they have now. So I can say that the breakdown of the nuclear family has a lot to do with the decline of society but we are all living under government legislation are we not?
marriage is destroying society because people are always in a RUSH to get married - and in this society of immediate pleasure - people are taught that breaking up and moving on are acceptable
the institution of marriage is a little silly in some ways but you cant blame the institution for people not screening their mates and being smart enough to know the difference between till death do us part and until it becomes inconvenient or a hassle or i get a better offer!
Marriage is only a problem when people become unfaithful. Even becoming unfaithful in the mind will hurt BOTH sides no matter what. There are no ways around it. Look at all the kids saying fantasizing is normal or even ';healthy'; then look at the divorce rates. Just repent to Jesus truthfully then everything will be much better. Everyone has the chance to receive the promised Holy Spirit to those who want Jesus truly in their hearts.
I think it is wrong to get married before you have the child. After all its about security in passing on ones wealth to ones offspring. What's the point in marrying someone who is sterile. The way it was done pre Christian interference, you had sex, got pregnant and produced the goods up front. Women had full equality.
Living together as partners was the norm. And of course gays could always adopt and rear an orphan. :)

Marriage is more than two people being ';hot';. It is about friendship, intimacy, forgiveness, serving the spouse. No, it is not marriage that is destroying society it is people who get married just to be ';hot'; that ruins marriage.
