What are the advantages and disadvantages of having sex as a teen instead of waiting until marriage?

The advantages are far more limited than the disadvantages. The only thing that I can say for advantages is...that way before you marry, you KNOW for sure what you want instead of going into it completely blind--this is the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with, so be sure that that's what you want. As long as you use protection and are responsible, it's not always a bad thing.

advantage is it won't be painful on your wedding night.


disadvantage, the person you love the most won't get to be your first and you'll regret it.
there are no advantages even with protection there are emotional risks. please please wait until you are married sex is something special that you can never take back once you do it

If I was given the chance I would have waited.
most teenagers aren't ready to deal with what can happen as a result of sex (kids, STDs, etc...)- hell alot of adults aren't ready to deal with those things either, but they are better at it then most teens.


The good parts, not having to worry about preg/STDs/etc... while you are still a teen.


The bad part some stupid teens might call you names or something equally silly if you are a virgin. In case you already didn't know those are people you really should not care about impressing. Life will go on.


Even if you don't wait until marriage, waiting until you are a little better off to deal with the risks of sex and have a few more years of life and maturing would be a good thing.
i agree with most of the above however i met my husband when i was 15 and had slept with a few people (no i am not a tart) but i now know that with my husband it is right and i dont feel like i have missed out on anything so i wont need to cheat to find out but that however is my personal opinion. i was carful i was mentally mature for my age and dont regret any of it.
Disadvantages are STDs is mainly the biggest one. Another is having to compare your husbands preformance to others that you have been with and theres a possiblity that he isnt all that good.. Advantages is that its fun to experiement and learn new things....
If I was answering this from a teenage point of view I would say that the advantages are getting the initial fear out of the way. But I think that the disadvantages far out weigh the advantages- STDs, Pregnancy, %26amp; just taking the risk of giving yourself to someone you may or may not end up in the long run is just not worth it, wait until you know you are with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with and you will be glad you did.
