Have you forgotten Obama is black? Should we not be more worried about what Miss America thinks about gay marriage. That is way more important. Next thing you know people will be saying Obama wants to conceal torture photos and send more troops to Afganistan.Why do people keep bringing up that Obama said marriage is between a man and a woman?

While I do not know why his race is of any consideration I will say that what he said is a conservative (republican) view. Being a liberal (democrat) that may be why the statement is appearing so much because it is out of the ordinary.
Because he's a democrat! He's supposed to support gay marriages. He's supposed to be liberal about things, and by saying that marriage is between a man and a woman, he's contradicting his party.
Because Americans like to argue the easy, juicy stuff but can't put out the energy to think about the big questions and problems facing us all. Just like Rome at the fall of its empire, the people are only concerned with food and entertainment.
Because one thing we have learned about President Obama is pretty much every statement or promise he makes has an expiration date.
