How can I prevent sex before marriage?

I promised my dad that I wouldn't have sex before I was married...but underage pregnancy is so common these days and it seems so great to have sex. My worst fear is that I will get pregnant and have to tell my parents. And sometimes condoms break, and diaphrams don't work...

At one point he had to just leave b/c they were getting too ';hot';. If this is very important to you, work very hard at it.

you have to learn to say no to your man. He's going to come on very strong and your going to want to make him happy but in the end, it's your willpower that will win out. It sucks. It has a lot of benefits other than just keeping you from a child and contrary to religious types, it does not promote sexual behavior. Abstinence programs also DO NOT WORK. Sex is not that great if you're not really in love... So, it's best to wait until you're mature enough and meet the right person, the one that you want to marry.


If you are over 18 and can't resist it (you should though, nobody ever regretted waiting!) use 2 methods of contraception, condoms + pill. Always use a condom for STDs and then the pill or ring to make sure you don't get pregnant. I'm telling you this because the most important is that you don't get pregnant. Waiting for your husband would be icing on the cake, it would be so special... :-)

saying no and being diligent with that is the only tool you need. I am a father of 3 beautiful girls. Teenage pregnancy is no joke. when you have a child your life changes in more ways than I could ever explain. My advice to you is to say no and stick to your decision. And also do everything in life that you want to do before having children because once they are here you cant put them back or turn back time. Get married someday and enjoy your husband before you have kids because everything changes when the little bundle of joy arrives. It is not a bad change just a different change.

Seriously, you should wait, in my opinion....and the way to do it would be to make sure that you are NEVER ALONE with a man/boy. That would be the easiest way, because once you get alone with someone, you won't be able to ';reason'; quite as well.

It's definitelyworth the wait, you'll avoid future conflict in multiple scenarios. Plus, believe me, it's not as fun as some people make it sound. Have you ever watched a health video.
