What legal changes/rights/privileges happen after marriage?

If we go get a civil marriage but want to keep it to ourselves is there anything that we need to be aware of, other than taxes? Will it effect our financial aid, medical insurance etc... We will chose to continue to live separately at home until we are done with school (20011) due to family/school commitments/obligations.

thanks! What legal changes/rights/privileges happen after marriage?
ALL marriages are civil unions, they have to be that is the law. If a person only has a religious ceremony when they get married then they aren't legally married, That is why one has to get a license and has other paperwork to sign at a religious wedding. As far as yur financies Yes it will effect your financial aid as well as insurances etc because those are the LAWS, you don't get to break the laws just because you are in school.
