i believe that you must remain married for 2 years for the immigrant to no longer be temporary...after the two years they can then work legally. But it takes 5 years for them to become a citizen, so if you are already a citizen, then you are past that probationary period.How long must a naturalized citizen by marriage remain married? If that is the reason you got married your a criminal there are laws against it
