After marriage, can i still remain a dependent of my parents and use their health insurance?

My Peruvian fiance and I are thinking about getting married (only civil ceremony) now, in order to be able to have a religious ceremony in Peru next year and start working on getting his visa to the U.S. My only concern is that, if im legally married, I wont be able to be my parents dependent any more, and therefore loose my health insurance. If there is no way to get around that, we will have to wait to get married because Im 21 and a college student... and obviously need health insurance...After marriage, can i still remain a dependent of my parents and use their health insurance?
Sorry, you're out of luck; once you marry, you are no longer considered to be a dependent of your parents for insurance purposes. After marriage, can i still remain a dependent of my parents and use their health insurance?
No you cannot remain on your parents policy once you are married.

At your age an individual policy will be affordable in most states. Call a local agent for assistance. The policies available depend on where you live, and an experienced agent can narrow down your options to one that best fits your needs in just a few minutes. Avoid the online shopping, there is just simply too much information, and too many scams to watch out for. Don

Short and sweet.

You get married and you will lose your insurance.
Nope!
Your parents would have to check with their insurance company or with the HR representative at their employer to see whether or not you can still be covered. I doubt if you can, but it can't hurt to check.

You may be able to get affordable health insurance through your college. That's another thing that it can't hurt to call and ask.
If you are in college, you may want to check out health insurance programs that are written through your school. United Healthcare has a plan available at many US schools. These student injury and illness plans provide wide ranging coverage and are designed to be affordable for college students. To check if your school is participating, go to www.UHCSR.com and enter your school name in the search box. You might also be interested in joining the American College Student Association (ACSA), a national organization for college students. They have lots of member benefits, including student health insurance. Their membership fee is affordable.
No. Once you're married you're no longer a dependent.

And getting coverage from your college is ridiculous advice. It's usually very expensive and horrible coverage.
